How to Re-Capture Your Enthusiasm
A new video on enthusiasm and your communication. (2:00) Take a look.
(Transcript): Hey there, it’s Susan Young. Here we are on the Front Porch for this week’s video — talking about September. As we close out the next few months of 2018, what are you going to be doing today, tomorrow, next week and next month to finish 2018 with a big old bang? Here’s a new Front Porch video on enthusiasm and communication.
Are you enthusiastic? Are you energized? Are you looking forward to what’s to come? Are you doing things that are fulfilling to your heart, to yourself, to your community? How do you spend your time and energy?
This week, I was one of two speakers talking about storytelling and social media. We were at a Rotary Club luncheon with 200 people. Just being on that stage was so invigorating, energizing and fulfilling; I was in my happy place. I’m thinking I need to do more of this. I used to do a lot of public speaking. Now with social media, I kind of hide behind the keyboard a little bit, as I’m sure you have found yourself, too. You can do videos like this, and you can get out in real life and speak to people.
The question is: What are you doing that really gets you “jonesed” and gets you “stoked” and all those funky words… excited and enthusiastic everyday about your life and about your role in this big old world? It all comes through in our communication. Are you going through the day enduring it or are you enjoying it? If you’re moping through the day, that comes through in your communication. It effects how you relate to others. People will pick up on it really, really, fast.
So, I encourage you today, to find that light, that spot and that place and that thing that you like to do, that you’re good at, that you enjoy, and other people can benefit from…Go there and do that! Spend your days and your time focusing on things that make you excited and things that give you energy. It will all come through in every aspect of your communication and your life. We need your gifts, so share the light, share the love.
Thank you for watching Front Porch Videos, I will see you next time. Bye for now.
